| Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Sarah Kretchmer attended the College of Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she graduated with a degree in graphic design. In 1998 she moved to Chicago and began work in the interactive field, painting on the side. She began to experiment with digital video in 2004, filming short conceptual films, and in 2005 she began to explore hand-drawn and stop-motion animation techniques. She has participated in Chicago's Wicker Park Around the Coyote art festival, the Chicago Art Open, and exhibited her work at various venues within the city. She currently lives and works in Chicago. |
