feel completely dry, and in retrospect I really should have waited
another couple days.

The surface looks confused and chaotic, and I'm not feeling the color
combinations so much. It sucks to hit a wall, a stumbling block. <br />
<br />
I'm going to have to sit for a long time and look at it. I have some ideas, but I need to sort it all out in my head.<br />
<br />
I'm leaning towards layering over the current surface and using it as a
"floor" to tear&nbsp; back down to; It's not an awful surface, it's just not
the painting I want it to be yet - it's not finished.]]>

Last night I discovered a technique whereby I can remove the residual paper
from the surface of the canvas without damaging the layers of paint
below.<br />
<br />
This is a vast improvement over using oil to render the paper
transparent, and the colors are far brighter than I've been able to get
them in the past. I took the above photo this morning and you can see
where the top and left side have been cleaned. I've spent the night
working away at it and am dead tired. Going to bed now; I'll post a
photo in the morning of the fully cleaned surface.]]>
